ONLINE CLASS
Ashtanga Yoga is very suitable for beginners who wish to build their yoga practice on a solid foundation. If you are a beginner however, I recommend you come to the shala at least a few times for in-person guidance. Poses are held for five counts, giving ample time for a proper experience of the posture through adjustments and appropriate alignment.
For the online classes, some Hatha/Ashtanga/Vinyasa yoga experience is preferable.
Advanced practitioners who are already familiar with the Primary Series of Ashtanga will enjoy this thorough and rhythmic led class and appreciate the hands-on assists and adjustment when in the shala. They can easily join the online class as well.
The class is always based on the Primary Series and Yaisa has a traditional approach, although she takes the liberty to modify the sequence when appropriate.
This class is suitable for those who are looking for a balanced work out for upper and lower body. Ashtanga yoga is an energising practice that helps to strengthen and tone the body. Once you are familiar with the sequence, it also becomes a moving meditation.

This option is perfect for you if the shala is full or you can't make it in person.
For Ashtanga Yoga, you need a mat and optionally, two blocks and a belt.
This is an interactive online class that is live streamed while a small of amount of students are guided in the shala simultaneously. I try to keep the students in the shala off-camera (except for the occasional demo-volunteer) and will only record classes occasionally for my online library after asking for permission from all participants. Online participants will never appear in the recording.
You must sign-in to book a spot in this class.
